THE 411 ON LAST NIGHT’S FUNDRAISERS, RECEPTIONS, AND PARTIES
An Elegant Evening to Benefit Cancer Care at South Shore Hospital
The stars aligned on Friday, October 22nd as South Shore Living’s Managing Editor Maria Ferri and Publishers Mike and Liz Rabideau had the pleasure of attending South Shore Hospital’s Moonlight and Miracles Gala at the Boston Quincy Marriott. On this special evening, several hundred South Shore residents donned formal attire to enjoy a fabulous evening of celebration and charitable giving.
This year’s Moonlight and Miracles Gala was particularly notable as it marked the one-year anniversary of South Shore Hospital’s Cancer Care Center. Proceeds from the event supported South Shore Hospital’s Journey of Hope Campaign, which raises money for cancer care services. Guests received copies of South Shore Living’s September issue, which featured an article about the Journey of Hope Campaign and spotlighted several of the major volunteers and donors, including notable South Shore residents like Chrissy and John Maguire, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Panera Bread, Stacy, Stacey and David Page of Hingham Jewelers, and David Honeycutt and Charles Dudley of Charles David Salon, who all attended the gala.
A corporate sponsor reception was followed by a silent and live auction, which took place during a fantastic dinner served at glittering tables in the main ballroom. Speakers included WBZ-TV 4 Meteorologist Melissa Mack as well as the Moonlight and Miracles Tri-chairs, Stacey Page, Denise Teixeira, and Colleen Tondorf. The evening concluded with entertainment provided by the band Sultans of Swing, whose music got guests on their feet to dance the night away. The evening raised over $450,000 for cancer care services. www.southshorehospital.org
