BOUTIQUE HOPPING AND TRENDY FINDS
A Fine Home for Feathered Friends
Crafted from old furniture and recycled materials, and painted by hand with methodical detail, Jack Pattison’s bird mansions are truly works of art. From the curve of the columns made from the legs of old chairs to the hand-carved designs of suns and moons, each birdhouse has a personal touch that makes it unique. Built with love and built to last, Pattison’s bird mansions are designed to withstand the New England elements. In fact, his original bird mansion has passed the test of time and continues to be a popular residence for the birds living in his yard.
A former art teacher in Pembroke for almost 40 years, Pattison says he started his business of building birdhouses almost by accident after creating one as a gift for his wife. Eight years and 604 bird mansions later, he's now known for his creations and is a member artist at Expressions, a cooperative of local artisans and craftsmen located in Scituate. The prices of the bird mansions range from $60 to $120 and may be purchased online or at upcoming local craft fairs listed below.
