BOUTIQUE HOPPING AND TRENDY FINDS

Haute Kicks

Haute Kicks

I'm not quite sure how particular styles from the past become popular trends once again, but I do know one thing— I love Converse Chuck Taylor sneakers, and to my liking, they are back in the cool.

What’s more, is that these kicks have become the canvas for other designers to show off their style. This is true for Christina Strahle-Muzio of Hingham who sells custom designed converse sneakers that are bedazzled with Swarovski crystals and threaded with one-of-a-kind laces.

Working as a merchandising consultant and the co-owner and co-founder of www.threehautemamas.com  (a lifestyle website for women ages 25 to forever young designed to bring you access to local New England and national lifestyle trends) Strahle-Muniz has always found fun in providing people with new thoughts on fashion. On top of that, her addiction to all things glamorous couldn’t be denied.

When Strahle-Muzio began her own line called Bella Fashions back in 2008 (inspired by her now four-year-old daughter named Bella) she began making shoes, headbands, and hats, but soon found herself drawn to accessorizing a specific sneaker--the classic Converse Chuck Taylors. She couldn’t help but go after this style shoe--one that's intended to boast a sense of laid back, casualness-- and make it a little more haute ( a term used to express high-class fashion, which goes along with the artists motto: Life is short, make it Haute.)

Today she custom designs sneakers for both kids and adults, but the kicks for the little ones are much more inspired and outgoing. She enjoys matching the sneakers to each individual’s personality, whether it be skull and cross bones or butterflies and fairies, or just dozens of crystals lined around the rubber parts of each shoe. She’ll also do any color combination to match a certain outfit or holiday/birthday outfit.

“I love making these sneakers. They turn a plain outfit into a show stopper, and I have witnessed them putting a pep into a child’s step!”  says the artist.

Fashion is expression and what we wear can have the power to create an inner confidence, so I believe, and I have a feeling these haute kicks have a way of doing just that!
