Shopping Local at The Shipyard
Business band together to open boutique shop in Hingham Shipyard
A group of local artists and vendors have joined together and staked a claim on a spacious retail location at Hingham Shipyard. The boutique is named 6 In the Shipyard, after the six women who came together to open the shop, and is filled with beautiful baubles.
Shoppers can find creative gifts designed by Ashley Osgood of Ash Tree Designs, who specializes in wedding calligraphy, handmade jewelry, recycled sail products, and handmade journals, as well as coastal home décor items, like framed Sea Glass Photography by Kathryn Toma. Jayne Osgood of Dock This Way Embroidery and Design sells a selection of nautical monogrammed products and Camille David and Denise Bruce of Camilley’s Closet sell an extensive array of affordable fashion accessories. Deb Carleton of The Pink Poppy, brings more trendy feminine gifts to the mix and Terri Rioles of Soul One One offers calming items for relaxation, like organic soaps, soy candles, robes, and wraps.
The 6 women also show their support for other South Shore artists by offering them display space in the store. The variety of products makes it a great place to shop for a thoughtful gift for a friend, or a fashion find for yourself that won’t break the bank. 6 in the Shipyard, 18 Shipyard Drive, Hingham, (781) 248-5642, www.6intheshipyard.com
