EXPLORING THE SOUTH SHORE ONE BITE AT A TIME
42 Degrees North opens on 3A in Plymouth
Serving up American cuisine with an array of fresh, local, and exotic seafood, this restaurant prides itself on quality ingredients in sizable portions at reasonable prices.
Located on 3A at 690 State Road in Plymouth (above the Wine Cellar and Dessert Bar), 42 Degrees North is comfortable and relaxing while still holding a classy look. The interior has been nicely redone, from floor to ceiling, introducing a fresh new feel, much different from what used to be Fappiano’s Restaurant.
A spacious dining room is accompanied by a bar side complete with a long granite countertop, televisions and plush seating. Folks will find it easy to cozy up with a cocktail after a day out exploring Plymouth, or catching some rays at the beach.
With a separate menu for lunch and dinner, there are a variety of options available. For lunch, the menu is filled with full of salads and sandwiches with ingredients sourced from the surrounding local farms. The summer Panzanella salad is packed with fresh finds— cucumber, red onion, grilled asparagus, plum tomatoes, fresh basil leaves, house croutons, pecorino crisp, goat cheese—and is served with a red wine vinaigrette.
“You can taste freshness and it really makes a huge difference when something comes out of the ground and right to your plate,” says general manager Erik Hynes, who's father runs the Inn at Bay Pointe in Quincy and Stolkholders in Weymouth. Dinner serves up a diverse menu of beef, chicken, seafood and pasta dishes. With options like a chargrilled swordfish steak with lemon caper sauce, pork osso bucco served with gorgonzola mashed potatoes, and even a homestyle baked mac and cheese, there is something for everyone.
“We want to give this section of Plymouth the restaurant it deserves. So if you like to eat, come visit us!” says Hynes.
