EXPLORING THE SOUTH SHORE ONE BITE AT A TIME
Sweet Earth Day Treat
Ah, now any package that arrives from a baking company is always a good thing—even better when it’s from a company called Fancypants (a name like that already tickles my fancy.)
Today at the office, we received a package from Fancypants Baking Company out of East Walpole, MA. Inside were 6 large round sugar cookies hand decorated with blue and green icing to create a picture of the Earth.
Dedicated to making 100 percent natural and nut free cookies since 2004, Fancypants baked this special sugar cookie (just for us!) and in honor of Earth day on April 22 as a wish for a world that is all natural and beautiful… similar to their cookies.
I couldn’t help but first, admire the natural ingredients written on each individually packaged cookie. From unbleached, unbromated wheat flour to sugar cane, all the main natural ingredients are sourced from local purveyors. Owner Maura Duggan and her husband Justin Housman are passionate about lessening their carbon footprint by doing something they love—making cookies, and making them so that everyone, even those with nut allergies, can enjoy. From custom birthday cookies to baby shower, wedding, get well, and thank you cookies, each are hand decorated using non-artificial food dye and come in traditional flavors like chocolate chip, molasses and oatmeal.
Then second, nibble away at the sweet, crunchy sugar cookie. What a treat! Sometimes a good old-fashioned (and all natural) cookie is just what the doctor ordered.
We got a special cookie designed for us--you can too!
