SAVORING THE GOOD LIFE ON CAPE COD
A Warm Welcome to JoMama's in Brewster
When it comes to that fifteen-minute morning or afternoon break, it’s a dream come true to find a place that offers hearty sandwiches and a much needed java boost— and for prices that won’t break the bank. Plenty of Cape Codders have been taking advantage of this for years at the quaint little JoMama’s café and eatery in Orleans. Now those, and others, not quite as far down the Cape can enjoy the simple pleasures at the new Brewster location.
In a much larger building than the Orleans shop, the bright expanded storefront offers plenty of café-style seating for customers to linger and enjoy all the same (and some new) tasty offerings — hot and cold gourmet sandwiches (all for $7 and under), organic espresso and coffee (1.60- $3.75), refreshing smoothies ($4.75)–and of course, bagels. Eighteen different bagels, from plain to blueberry to jalapeno are delivered from New York and baked fresh in house each day, served with a choice of ten cream cheeses including smoked mozzarella, maple walnut raisin, and lox.
For sandwiches, you can surely build your own (as I love to do), but it’s easy to be persuaded by one of their specialties like the meat lovers breakfast sandwich, the El Diablo black bean burger, or the sol surfer stuffed with chicken, pesto mayo, sun-dried tomato spread, and fresh field greens. Finish up with a hot or frozen espresso drink or a mang-cato smoothie, made with fresh mango, strawberry and avocado. Yum!
